February's Astrological Forecast with Jenna Medeiros

February 2020: your monthly astrological forecast with Jenna Medeiros at rabblerouser.ca

What’s Going On?

The Sun, Mercury, Venus and all the other planets (or luminaries) go through the 12 zodiac signs, from Aries to Pisces. Seeing where the planets are aligned helps us understand what energies are at play around us, what may affect us and to help us know when a good time or unfavourable time is for something. I will be going through where the planets are throughout the month, how to best use that energy and what to look out for so stay tuned!

Since the moon changes signs every ~ 2.5 days, I don’t mention it here. If you want to know about the moon in different phases and signs, check out my weekly article – also in Rabble Rouser!

For those more advanced, you can check what house the planet is transiting in your natal chart to see where in your life you can expect these energetic changes.

E.g. If Mars were in Scorpio at 22° (you can look online to find the degree), look for Scorpio in your natal chart and the house that 22° Scorpio lands in, that’s where in your life you can expect to be affected the most – if it were to be in your 6th house, it would be most noticeable in your daily routine, work and/or health).

February 2020 – Personal Planets

The personal planets (and luminaries, the sun and moon) are Mercury, Venus and Mars. Since they are closer to the Sun, gravity pulls the inner (or personal) planets closer to the Sun, making their orbits revolve faster than the outer planets because there is less distance for them to travel. So, because of the Sun’s gravity, they spend less time in each sign than the outer planets, like Saturn.

This month starts with the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, Venus in Pisces, and Mars in Sagittarius.

With the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, this is a wonderful time to try something new or with a different approach. We should be more open to outside-the-box ideas, people doing things that are more unconventional and to be flexible with our schedule. This is a good time to make connections, be innovative, to make wishes and to show off what makes you unique! Aquarius energy encourages thinking from a different perspective so we can experience more things and for growth!

Venus in Pisces is dreamy energy. Careful of seeing through “rose coloured glasses” and believing what you want instead of what reality shows you. On the other hand, it is a great time for being in touch with our emotions and intuition as well as being creative! Dreaming is good but try not to daydream so much that you don’t get anything done. If you are feeling spaced out, try having a bath or doing something that grounds you.

With Mars in Sagittarius, this is very fiery, impatient, fast-moving energy! Remember to not be impulsive and to have things organized before moving ahead with major or important plans. If you wanted to start a new project or something else ambitious, this is a great time to do so. To assure it has a stable foundation, make sure not to rush into things and you’ve planned things properly.

On Monday the 3rd, Mercury moves into Pisces which can lead to us daydreaming more, our heads feeling “foggy” or hard to concentrate and being more prone to escapism. Careful of miscommunication, or accidental disillusionment – take things slow, speak from the heart and maybe don’t believe everything you hear if you can be naïve. Be realistic in your goals, and careful of being too wishful in your thinking. People may be overthinking during this time if they have trouble controlling their thoughts – I suggest doing some self-care, meditating and the like. On a more positive note, it’s a good time for being creative and getting in touch with your emotions. Be sympathetic and giving during this time, but don’t let people walk all over you or push you around.

On the 7th, Venus enters Aries; This is heated, passionate energy! This is a perfect time to be intimate or to go on a date. Try not to be unrealistic during this time, whether that be in a relationship or a general goal. Being spontaneous can be good, as long as you’re not getting carried away and aren’t spending your money recklessly. Be cautious of being short with your temper, self-centred or being too aggressive. This is a good time for doing something you are passionate about and to start something you’ve been interested in!

On Sunday the 16th, Mars moves into Capricorn. Mars in Capricorn is very ambitious, driven, hard-working energy so use it to motivate yourself, complete tasks you’ve been procrastinating and even to start something new! Make sure not to rush, be impulsive or hot-tempered, so that anything you do is on a stable foundation. Take time to be grounded if you are stressed out, and don’t give yourself more than you can handle.

On February 18th, the Sun enters Pisces. During this time, we are more imaginative, sensitive and intuitive. This is a good time for getting in touch with your emotions, self-care, daydreaming and being caring. Since we are prone to feeling our emotions deeply, this is a good time to express how we feel through something creative. Try being careful of being impressionable or of indulging in escapism too much. Pisces is one of the more spiritual zodiac signs, so if you are into that then this is a wonderful time to learn more about what you’re interested in, doing meditation, scrying and general divination.

Outer Planets & Retrogrades

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are the outer planets used in astrology and move a lot slower, making them stay in a zodiac sign longer than the personal planets. The signs they are in now will last a while, with the next change being March 22nd, 2020.

To see how to best use the outer planets’ energy, read on!

Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are in Capricorn, Uranus is in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces.

With Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, we should be realistic, practical and organized in important matters and goals. Try being down-to-earth with money matters and responsibilities. If you are hard working, patient and ambitious, you should be rather abundant. Make sure to have a plan and things in order if you plan on moving, starting a new job, or something else major. Be cautious of overspending and make sure anything you start is on a stable foundation during this time as well.

Uranus is in Taurus which means it’s good to be open to change and being open-minded. Try not to be too stubborn or stuck in your ways; things that push us out of our comfort zones help us grow! If you feel like you need to change something in your life, it’s best to do that while you are motivated and thinking about it. This is the time to get rid of things that are no longer good for you, whether that be a person, mindset, lifestyle, or even physical clutter. If change makes you feel uneasy, try being flexible and having “go with the flow” energy.

Last is Neptune in Pisces. Since Neptune rules this sign, its energy is magnified. We should be careful of being overindulgent, unhealthy escapism and not doing things excessively. Make sure to be realistic in goals and dreams you have. This is a good time for following your intuition and trusting your gut. Being creative is also a wonderful thing to do during this time, as well as meditation.

Mercury goes Retrograde in Pisces on February 16th at 4:54pm. During this time there is often trouble with technology and communication, mistakes or delays happen, and not the time to sign contracts. If you do need to begin something new or sign a contract, read the fine print, be organized and double check everything. If you are travelling, plan carefully. This is a good time for working on an old project and to finish things. Mercury will be Retrograde until the evening of March 9th.

Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for next month!
