The Moon’s Energy & How it’s Affecting Us
Weekly periods run from Friday to Thursday, All times PST
Why follow the moon?
In astrology, the moon rules our feelings, habits and instincts. Knowing what sign and phase the moon is in gives you the chance to harness the moon’s energy to your advantage – to know when the best, most effective time is for taking action, romance, relaxing or when to avoid certain things. Also, if you’re more tuned into the moon’s energy, it gives you a heads up of how the moon will be affecting you on an emotional level.
For those more advanced, you can check what house the moon is transiting in your natal chart to see where in your life you can expect these energetic changes.

What can we expect this week?
February 14th to 20th, 2020.
This Valentine’s Day on Friday, the moon is a waning gibbous and in the sign of Scorpio! People are likely to feel more easily emotional during this time, since Scorpio is a water sign. This is a great time for working on yourself for some deep transformation, or spending a passionate day with someone close. Being creative is also a great idea during this time so do something to express yourself or your feelings for a crush or significant other! Do be careful though of being overly possessive or jealous. The waning gibbous phase is good for studying, meditation, being thankful, cleaning and spell-work for protection and banishment.
Saturday the moon moves into Sagittarius at 8:07pm, and will be there until very early Tuesday. Time to be spontaneous, imaginative and adventurous! It’s also a good time to think on what goals you want to make or accomplish since Sagittarius energy helps us think big picture, just make sure you’re still being realistic. Careful of overindulging or being reckless during this time, as well as exaggerating too much. Deepening your spiritual knowledge is a great idea while the moon is here also, if that’s something you want to learn more about. The moon will be in a last quarter phase Saturday and Sunday which is good for releasing negative thought patterns, people, habits, and so on. It’s also an ideal time for cleansing yourself and home, banishment spells and resting. Monday the 17th until the end of Saturday, the moon is in a waning crescent. This is a time for showing gratitude, resting and reflecting.
Tuesday at 2:37am, the moon enters Capricorn. This is the time for being realistic, organized and making sure your responsibilities are done. Don’t overspend during this time and make sure your money habits are in a good place. Do something grounding during this time, whether that’s going out in nature, doing some breathing exercises or meditating with some hematite or shungite, for example. This is also a good time for setting boundaries and rules. The moon will be here until Thursday morning.
Thursday at 11:42am the moon enters Aquarius. This is the best time to express what makes you unique and different! Try to socialize, make some wishes and think about the future! Aquarius is ruled by Uranus which has innovative energy and looks for change, so it’s best to be open-minded and flexible. Try doing something new or thinking in a different approach and try to not be in your head too much. If you feel overwhelmed, take some time for yourself and take it easy.
Moon Void of Course
I won’t get too into detail about this here, but when the moon is in between changing zodiac signs, it goes through a period called “Void of Course”. Things started at this time often get delayed, need adjustment, end up failing, or otherwise just not being stable.
If you’re making any major decisions (e.g. starting a new business, making investments, or even first dates) they should be avoided during this time if possible, as well as planning anything important. Instead, do something such as cleaning, reading, meditating, or so on. If you are going to close a business or end a relationship, this is the time to do so.
Hope you enjoyed, stay tuned for next week!
